Abstract:

As the development of information technology, especially in multimedia services such as video, voice, and data to improve service for the customers and answer the public demand of multimedia services, the network is used for Digital Video Broadcasting Cable (DVB C). DVB C is one of the cable network technology that is formed from a combination of optical and coaxial network. This research is expected to provide services to users broadband access to cable TV services, internet, video on demand and multimedia-based services. By planning,it has been used wide bandwidth of 750 MHz for downstream and upstream of 60 MHz. By design, it needs to be served to the downstream ie digital TV (48 MHz), 80 MHz analog TV, video on demand (72 MHz), and the Internet 16 MHz. total upstream bandwidth is 4.6 MHz with 140 total customers.
Based on the results of the design with cable software tools, devices that can be used are 2 way splitter, amplifier, TAP 4 way with damping 23, 20, and 17 dB and Tap 8-17, 8-11. Performance results of the design has satisfied the minimum and maximum target of signal level for each Tap.
