Abstract:

In the industrial area, the ability of producing precise manufacturing components is necessary to obtain high quality product. In order to achieve high quality product, researcher around the world are trying to conduct many researches for example in the forming area, especially in cold working. High quality manufacturing product will affect in the high benefit in manufacturing industry.
In this research, cold working processes are performed by pressed rolling on the workpiece surface. In order to conduct pressed rolling, the parameter of rolling depth and rolling duration were determined. After rolling processes were conducted, then the surface roughness testing, hardness testing and micro structure testing were performed in order to determine the effect of rolling to the workpiece’s surface.
The surface roughness test shows that by cold working processes, the surface roughness is decreasing from Ra 1.18 to 0.76 μm. However, the hardness is increasing from 220 to 285 HV. The hardness is increasing due to grain refinement on the surface after cold working by pressed rolling.
