Abstract:

Cable that has function of transmitting power, is a vulnerable tool in installation secutity aspect. Short-circuit on installation usually csused by failure of cable connection or failure of insulation cable, knowl ledge the cause of insulation failure and its impact to insulation endurance is absolutly needed for preventing of failure of insulation cable.
Degradation of insulation cable that is caused by temperature impact, causes change of chemical structure on the material, this degradation is signed by reduction of insulation endurance, the breakdown voltage is faster occurred if temperature increased, level of damage on material is affected by period and level of temperature increasing of time and temperature on the insulation material causes level of damage on material be increasing as well.
On testing of characteristic insulation, its endurance can be different in every tested insulation material, its depend on the percentage of substance on additive material that is mixed on the insulation material, continous degradation that is caused by increasing of temperature can be caused cable insulation to be rigid, then breakdown voltage on material is faster.
