Abstract:

Micro-hydro Power Plant (MHP) is a center that utilizes the flow of water. To stabilize the flow of electricity generated by the generator, it is necessary to control the use of the load on the generator. MHP currently only using the control using electronic devices have some drawbacks such as its stability is still lacking and should do the monitoring on the MHP directly and continuously so that will cost money and effort very much. Given the weakness of this study was then performed, which are expected to perform automatic control of the MHP with a good stability. This control using Programmable Logic controller (PLC) twido TWDLMDA 20 DRT with Proportional Integral Derivative algorithm (PID) to produce a stable and fast control in stabilizing the voltage and frequency when the load changes. The system also provides a modbus port, allowing the network to connect with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) so that the bias controlling and monitoring of remote MHP.
