Abstract:

In generally, the extracting of essential oil expecially for Pogostemon cablin benth and Canangium odoratum Baill is using a simple distillation process. Before the process conducted, many preparation steps for raw material such as drying, cutting, analysis both water and oil content are needed. By analizing the raw material, the result showed that the water content for Pogostemon cablin benth and Canangium odoratum Baill are 13,24% and 12,30% respectively. Furthermore, 2,63% and 1,64 % are the magnitude of the oil content for both components. From this experiment that conducted using water an steam in the simple distillation technology,it produced less an extracted essential oil if there was improper condensor isolation. Using a simple distillation process, it produced an extracted Canangium odoratum Baill with spesification; 0,9046 g/ml of density; yellow colour; with a specific aromatic; 1,493 of refraction index. And the density for Pogostemon cablin benth is 1,4897 g/ml.
