Abstract:

The government launched the kerosene-to-LPG conversion program in 2007 to help reduce kerosene consumption. This program had increased the number of LPG-stoves in society significantly. LPG-stove has high thermal efficiency, so utilizing some of heat from the stove to direct converts into electrical energy will provide economic value of the stove. The kind of technology that possible to be applied in conversion of heat into electrical energy on the LPG-stove is thermoelectric technology.
This research utilized the heat of LPG Stoves RI-511A and RI-300HP using thermoelectric generator TEG127 - 40A and TEG126 - 40A. The heat then converts to electrical energy using technology of Seebeck effect on thermoelectric.
The result show that voltage and current generated by TEG126 - 40A is better than TEG127 - 40A. LPG-stove RI-551A using TEG127-40A, voltage and current reached 2.69 V and 0,12 respectively. This result is smaller than using TEG - 40A 126 V that reached 3,59 V and 0,34 A. While the value of the voltage and current generated by TEG127-40A on RI-300HP reached 3,77 V and 0,39 A respectively, but it is still smaller than that using TEG126-40A V that reached 4,17 V and 0,48 A.
