Abstract:

The uncatalytic pyrolysis in this research were conducted in a retort by LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) as a raw material. This research was focused on studying the kinetic of LDPE pyrolysis with the simple method approximation, whereas the forward reaction toward liquid product is the main process. Reaction took place at atmospheric pressure and at temperature between 4000C and 6000C. When the first distilate came out from the retort at the certain temperature, the evaluated process was determined. The data were observed by the changed destilate, gas volume, and the residual solid in the retort after the end of LPDE pyrolysis. The global rate constant of pyrolysis reaction (k0) has the activation energy of 377.11 kJ/mol and the pre-exponential factor of 2.4 x 10-1 s-1.
