Abstract:

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the formation of metallic minerals and the abundance of gold (Au) and their associations, petrographic analysis and analysis of the Atomic Absorbtion spectrophotometry (AAS).
Writing method used is to combine field data, and results of laboratory analysis and secondary data.
Petrographic analyzes conducted to determine the genesis/formation of minerals of gold and associated metals. Based on the results of petrographic analysis, indicate that gold mineralization and its association contained in Sangon area, Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta, resulting in propylitic-type alteration. And based on the analysis of Atomic Absorbtion spectrophotometry (AAS), shows that the content/Au metallic mineral levels contain/ lowest levels compared to other metal mineral associations. Au content of only 1.274 ppm or 0.0001274%.
