Abstract:

Analysis of MTBF (main time break failure) to bearing 6304 with the application at crankshaft gasoline engine conducted to know the damage age of the bearing so that can influence the performance from crankshaft gasoline engine. To know the damage age of hence conducted by comparing bearing 6304 with the process hardening and process the carbonitriding, by examination directly through the appliance test the (test rig) that is bearing given the burden which have been determined by equal to 63 kg and then given the rotation of equal to 2800 rpm, because of limitation of appliance test the (test rig) hence this Analysis [s conducted by during 100 hour and conducted by iterasi is matching with the one which happened [at] crankshaft gasoline engine.
After conducted by Analysis of during 100 hour of hence got by result from calculation that is Nominal Age (Lh): 5038 hour, Age Reliability (Ln): 5038 hour, Age Reliability (R): 0.9 or equal to 90 % as well as heat of arising out at bearing (Q): 0.968 kcal / minute. Besides this Analysis [is] also conducted by a macro photo to ball bearing is so that got by result that at ball bearing with the process hardening happened by many handicap at surface or incision, while at ball bearing with the process carbonitriding happened defect only a few at surface. And with the influence of burden and damage that happened at object test the moment conducted by test-drive of hence got by value FR (failure rate) or mount the mean failure at bearing with the process hardening is 0.25 of 100 hour as well as got by MTBF or mean time happened by the failure is 400 hour while at bearing with the process of carbonitriding FR (failure rate) is 0 of 100 hour and MTBF is 0 hour or 100 % is not happened [by] failure.
From result of Analysis date of hence got by value MTBF (main time break failure) or mean time happened by the failure at bearing with the compared to by better process carbonitriding of bearing with the process hardening. So that from the data that bearing with the process carbonitriding more according to to be used at crankshaft gasoline engine compared to at bearing with the process hardening.
